How waves are set

ZATCA applies the Integration Phase in waves, by revenue subject to VAT.

  1. A revenue threshold

Each wave has a threshold: a business is in it when its revenue subject to VAT exceeded that threshold in any one of the years named.

  2. The notification

ZATCA notifies the targeted businesses in each wave at least six months before their integration date.

  3. Phase 1 for everyone

Phase 1 (generation) has applied to every taxable business since 4 December 2021, whatever its revenue.

Thresholds and dates as ZATCA published them on its roll-out phases page.

Questions

Is this tool’s answer binding?

No. It reads the criteria ZATCA published; the binding date is the one in the notification ZATCA sends you directly, at least six months before your date.

Which year do I use if my revenue changed?

Exceeding the threshold in one of the years a wave names is enough, so enter your highest year.

My revenue is below every threshold. Must I do anything?

Yes, Phase 1: electronic invoices with the required data and QR code. ZATCA will announce further waves, so follow its announcements.

My wave’s date has passed and I had no notification. What now?

Check the email registered with ZATCA and your account on its portal, and contact ZATCA if you find nothing. Integration follows the notification, and the notification sets the date.
